City of Arcadia Hosts 45th Annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast
State of the City Address will be delivered that day
Arcadia Mayor Sho Tay will deliver the State of the City Address during the annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, Feb. 7 at the Arcadia Community Center. The 45th annual breakfast is being sponsored by the City of Arcadia, the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce and Foothill Credit Union. The breakfast will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m.
“The theme for this year’s breakfast is Traditions of Arcadia,” shared the mayor. “I want to recognize the importance of our community traditions, faith, family values, as well as being neighborly to our fellow Arcadians.”
Reverend Jolene Cadenbach from Arcadia Congregational Church, Imam Nissar Hai from the Mosque of San Gabriel, and Rabbi Sholom Stiefel from Chabad of Arcadia will be in attendance.
Former Arcadia Mayor James R. Helms, a 62-year Arcadia resident, will be this year’s keynote speaker. Helms served as mayor from 1971-72 and was also a member of the City Council for eight years. He has remained an active community member and went on to serve as president of local civic and fraternal organizations.
Tickets to attend the breakfast are $20 per person. The hot breakfast buffet is included in the price of your ticket. Reservations must be made by Jan. 31. To purchase tickets, visit arcadiacachamber.org. A portion of ticket sales proceeds will be donated to the Arcadia Educational Foundation.
