In the Land of the Rising Sun with Menswear Fashion House, Latokyo
Inspired by Eastern idealogies, traditional Japanese garments and the aesthetics and functionality of American streetwear, Latokyo creates conceptual everyday attire for the statement-making modern man. The team’s young designers have been steadily busy since 2010, conceiving the brand and creating its focus. After several years of trial and error, Latokyo emerges refined and ready to step into the global apparel market.
With a January 2016 release of their newest collection, “Emptiness,”– modeled by our Gentleman’s Issue cover star Shaun Ross—the team explores the concept of vacancies, clean slates and the mantra that, “Everything is found in nothing.” While in the midst of becoming a bi-continentally accessible brand, the fashion house took a short sabbatical across the Atlantic: confirming orders, reconnecting with their transcontinental network, eating hella Kamameshi and photographing their garments in the Land of the Rising Sun.
