‘Brew at Zoo’ event returns to The Living Desert with new format

“Brew at the Zoo” returns — after a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic — to The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens on Saturday with local and regional craft beers, food, music and wine.

The three-hour event will mark the zoo’s 11th Annual Palm Desert Brew at the Zoo. This year, it will take on a new format using BrewBucks that can be exchanged for food and drinks through the zoo.

“Not only is it one of our most important fundraisers that supports our education and conservation programs, Brew at the Zoo is one of our most popular events,” said Living Desert chief executive officer and president, Allan Monroe. And the new format, which features full-size beverages and unique food offerings, will really enhance guest experience.

All attendees will get one BrewBuck with their admission ticket and additional BrewBucks can be purchased for $6 each. One BrewBuck can be used for a 16 ounce craft beer, a glass of wine or a delicious culinary delight.

La Quinta Brewing company, Coachella Valley Brewing Company, Golden State Cider and Golden Road Brewing will provide a wide selection of ABV beers at the event.

Craft beers and wine will be available at bars throughout the zoo, as well as culinary creations from onsite eateries and live music performances throughout the evening.

All tickets are $40, but members will get to enter the venue a half hour earlier. Each ticket includes admission, live entertainment, one BrewBuck and a surprise souvenir.

To end the night, there will be performances by Lisa Lynn and the Broken Hallelujahs, The Refills and DJ Modgirl.

All attendees must be 21 years or older and provide valid identification before attending.
