LA Chamber Orchestra receives grant to help community engagement efforts

The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra announced Wednesday it has received a $150,000 federal grant aimed at helping arts and culture organizations recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The grant was provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, with funding coming from the American Rescue Plan, according to LACO. The funds will be used to maintain the orchestra’s programming and community engagement efforts.

“LACO is incredibly grateful and honored to receive this significant and meaningful grant from the NEA,” LACO Executive Director Ben Cadwallader said in a statement. “As the orchestra continues to reemerge from the pandemic, the grant will enhance LACO’s resilience, and inspire our growing service to the community with diverse and impactful programming.”

According to LACO, the NEA will distribute more than $57.7 million in grants in 567 organizations nationally.
