If there is any team that knows how to start a season on the right foot, the Arcadia football team certainly knows how to get it done as the Apaches roll to a 64-0 win over La Salle in the inaugural game of the 2018 season.

Prior to kickoff, spectators were presented with a ceremony that honored brothers J.D. and Ziska, who died just seven months apart between 2017 and 2018. The duo both played quarterback for Arcadia around the turn of the millennium and were all-leaguers that led the Apaches to several league titles.

Following the ceremony, the game began as the first quarter saw a scoreless stalemate between Arcadia and La Salle. However, the Apaches caught fire in the second, opening up a massive 50-0 lead to take into the break.

In the second half, Arcadia continued to dominate on all fronts. Junior quarterback Dylan Guerra was subbed off in the third after posting 289 yards, including two touchdown passes in the first half.

It was a solid first outing for Guerra as many questions were surrounding the Apaches as to who was going to be their next quarterback.

Arcadia will next travel to Cathedral High School on Friday for a highly anticipated game against the Phantoms.
