Fire It Up: Charcoal Venice Opens Today

Venice heads looking to grab a nice dinner, but wanna forgo the bougie fluff – let us introduce you to your new regular spot.

Esteemed and celebrated chef Josiah Citrin of Santa Monica’s seasonal French restaurant Melisse describes Charcoal as a “casual concept” restaurant, with “food that I prepare for my friends and family in my backyard on the weekend. Not too fancy, just delicious food that you crave.”

And these cravings are soon to be fulfilled. Charcoal Venice opens today, in all its refined rustic glory.

The chef upholds his philosophy, “In Pursuit of Excellence,” with a less intimidating menu, featuring comfort foods cooked over a live fire, infusing a smoky, backyard barbeque flavor with the use of premium oak and hickory lump coals.

To add to the welcoming, communal vibe,  guests dine family-style with large, family-style portions.

The cocktails range from modern, spirit-forward interpretations (the Duck Blind is made with duck fat.

The restaurant was designed by DEX Studio’s Glen Bell, a minimalist, open-concept that makes you feel right at home- if your home had a kitchen stocked with the most effortlessly delicious foods. The live-fire vibe, the modern art, the pops of black, red, pink, and grey, has the effect of warming you up while keepin’ it cool.

Experience it for yourself-  Charcoal Venice is located at 425 W. Washington Blvd. between Dell and Clune Avenues in Venice, CA, 90292.

The restaurant will be open for dinner TuesdaySunday 6-10 p.m. and closed on Mondays. Valet parking is available for guests. Walk-ins are fine, but you can secure your spot by calling 310.751.6794.
