Concert supports arts education in the public schools

Legendary artist Johnny Cash is faithfully recreated by James Garner at the Arcadia Performing Arts Center (188 Campus Drive, Arcadia) on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 7 p.m.  Tickets range from $20 to $60 for VIP with student prices available, and 30% off early bird discount with the code OFF30.

Johnny Cash was honored by the Country Music Hall of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Songwriters Hall of Fame. James Garner shares personal anecdotes of the “Man in Black” and brings his biggest hits to life with the Tennessee Three band such as “Folsom Prison Blues,” “I Walk the Line,” and “Ring of Fire.” Garner and his band have performed over 500 professional shows including the 40th Anniversary Folsom State Prison concert on-site, and the 50th Anniversary at the Harris Center for the Arts with Johnny Cash’s youngest daughter Tara Cash.

The concert is a fundraiser for the Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation that hopes to raise $53,805 by June 22 to receive a match of $38,000. The funds will retire the foundation’s debt obligations to the school district, provide scholarships, and sustain the foundation’s popular STEAM+M Festival (science, technology, engineering, art, math and music).

Arcadia Police Department Sergeant Dan Morgan is the Lifetime Achievement Award honoree in memoriam. VIP ticket holders enjoy desserts, and artist meet & greet after the show. For more information, visit arcadiapaf.org/season-events/johnny-cash-tribute or call the Foundation at (626) 941-6418.
