Art Talk: A Look at The Broad Museum’s Un-Private Collection
Monday night, we took a stroll over to Downtown LA’s newly solidified arts and culture enclave on Grand Ave. for The Broad Museum’s Un-Private Collection series.
The paneled discussions, which feature distinguished cultural leaders and artists, began back in 2013 and since have featured sold-out conversations with like Eric Fischl and Steve Martin, Kara Walker and Ava DuVernay, Jeff Koons and John Waters, and more.
For this week’s installment, guests migrated from the Broad’s lobby to the LA Phil to watch as Elizabeth Diller, principal-in-charge from Diller Scofidio + Renfro, philanthropist and museum founder Eli Broad, and The Broad’s Founding Director Joanne Heyler sat down to chat about the design process behind their massive architectural undertaking.
The candid conversation was moderated by noted architectural critic and Vanity Fair contributing editor Paul Goldberger and explored the decisions behind the museum’s construction, as well as its thoughtful design geared towards visitor engagement.
Visit The Broad’s site for tickets to their on-going series and browse the museum’s extensive fall programming calendar for a unique roster of events and interactive workshops.
The Broad is located on 221 S. Grand Ave., LA 90012
