Arcadia Crime Blotters: Jan. 3–9

Jan.3

At12:41 p.m., an officer responded to 88 Beef Noodle, 1045 S. Baldwin Ave.,regarding a theft report. The suspect ordered food and while the employeewalked away to retrieve change, the suspect stole her wallet and fled thescene. The suspect is described as a male Asian, approximately 20 years old, 5-foot-10with an average build, dark hair and eyes, wearing dark clothes and a facemask. The investigation is ongoing.

At5:42 p.m., officers responded to the area of Huntington Drive and Holly Avenueregarding a traffic accident that had just occurred. A vehicle making a leftturn hit a subject who was crossing lanes of traffic. The pedestrian wastransported to a hospital to care for his injuries.

At8:24 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Arcadia Avenueregarding a domestic disturbance. The victim claimed she and her boyfriend werearguing about money for rent when he slapped her face, then pulled her arm andher hair. She called the police and he fled the scene before officers arrivedat the location.  The investigation isongoing.

At8:14 p.m., an officer working inside the Arcadia Police Department received atelephone call from a victim reporting a theft. The theft occurred at aresidence in the 400 block of West Foothill Boulevard. The victim stated thatshe rents a room and shares the residence with multiple roommates. An unknownsuspect entered her locked room by unknown means and stole several thousands ofdollars. The investigation is ongoing.

At8:16 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 00 block of West Le RoyAvenue regarding an audible alarm. An investigation revealed an unknownsuspect(s) forced entry into the residence by smashing a rear sliding glassdoor. The suspect(s) ransacked the bedrooms and fled the scene with an unknownamount of property.

At8:48 a.m., an officer responded to Hampton Inn, located at 311 E. HuntingtonDrive, regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim stated that sometimeduring the previous evening, someone damaged the locked door handle and enteredhis GMC van. The suspect(s) fled with miscellaneous tools. The investigation ispending a review of any available surveillance footage.

At9:21 a.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Recreation Center, located at375 W. Huntington Drive, regarding a catalytic converter theft. The reportingparty discovered the catalytic converter had been stolen from one of the cityvehicles during the previous weekend. 

At3:14 p.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of El Dorado Street regarding acatalytic converter theft. The officer determined the catalytic converter hadbeen cut from the victim’s Honda Element sometime between Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. andJan. 1 at 1 p.m. The investigation is pending a review of nearby surveillancefootage.

At2:21 p.m., an officer responded to Alex Di Peppe’s Italian Restaurant, locatedat 508 E. Live Oak Ave., regarding a burglary investigation. The victimdiscovered his front window had been shattered and the cash register,containing loose change, had been stolen. The victim stated he would review thelocation’s surveillance footage.

At2:36 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of South TenthAvenue regarding numerous package thefts over the past few months. The victimstated the first package theft occurred in July of 2020, then a second one afew months later, and the most recent occurred on January 5th. The total lossfor all of the stolen items amounted to approximately $1,660. There are noinvestigative leads at this time.

At12:27 p.m., an officer responded to Tierra Verde Park, located at 200 E. CaminoReal, regarding a theft from a vehicle report. The officer concluded thevictim’s purse was stolen from her unsecured vehicle. The officer was unable tolocate any further evidence.

At4:42 p.m., an officer took a telephonic report of a vandalism that occurred inthe 500 block of Walnut Avenue. The victims found that her mailbox had beenpried open sometime during the previous night. It is unknown if the suspectfled with stolen mail or not.

At5:48 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of South Santa Anita Avenueregarding a suspect, armed with a knife, trying to steal the victim’s vehicle.An investigation revealed the victim encountered the suspect inside his vehicleand attempting to start it. When the victim confronted the suspect, the suspectthen pointed a knife at the victim. The victim backed away and called 9-1-1.Officers arrived and located the suspect. The 40-year-old male from Arcadia wasarrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. He was alsocharged with being in possession of a controlled substance.

Jan.9

At2:07 p.m., an officer responded to Icar Lifestyle, located at 414 Rolyn Place,regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed thesuspect pried open a front window and ransacked the business, fleeing withelectronics and uniforms. Officers located the suspect nearby and arrested a33-year-old male transient from Arcadia. He was transported to the Arcadia CityJail for booking.
