In an effort to thank the men and women working tirelessly to combat the tragic fires throughout the state, Santa Anita Park is offering a small token of gratitude to the many organizations providing continuous assistance and relief, all the while putting themselves in harm’s way.

First responders aided countless horsemen through the devastating loss of The Stronach Group-owned San Luis Rey Downs in Bonsall, Calif. last December and their acts of bravery and enduring persistence to help people and horses reach safety will never be forgotten.

Santa Anita Park, The Odd Market, Ice America, Amuse Matte Holiday Photography, and the Stronach Group will provide first responders and their family free admission, an ice skating session with skate rentals included, and a picture and print with Santa Claus during opening weekend of the 2018 Winterfest.

Beginning Friday, Nov. 23 at 3 p.m. through Sunday, Nov. 25, vouchers will be given to any police officer, firefighter, paramedic or EMT showing a valid form of identification at the registration tent. Limit of four admissions and skate sessions per responder, and one photograph with Santa. If interested, please send RSVP to santaanita.com/firstresponder and be sure to bring identification along.

Winterfest will be open every Thursday-Sunday through Dec. 23. Hours of operation are Thursday and Friday from 3 – 10 p.m.; Saturday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. The entrance is located on the north end of the property, through Gate 6 off Colorado Place. Free parking is available for all patrons.

Winterfest is co-produced by The Stronach Group and The Odd Market and will also feature a Christmas tree lot, petting zoo, horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday movies on the big screen, tons of seasonal drinks and fare, music, inflatable jumpers, shopping vendors and more.
