The World’s Most Elite Photojournalists Come Together for One Night

dylan furst4Dylan Furst

Featuring contributors of National Geographic, New York Times, Al Jazeera, Street Dreams Magazine, Associated Press, The Wall Street Journal and Getty Images, LA creative collective Hands Down Presents,”Eye for an Eye.”

In a welcomed attempt to stretch the function of a photography exhibit past the simple action of presenting photographic work, “Eye for an Eye” brings together local and global street, fashion and lifestyle photographers, fusing them with internationally celebrated photo journalists from around the world. Ed Kashi, Kevin FrayerLynsey Addario and Amy Toensing grace the line-up, carrying handfuls of prestigious photojournalism awards between them. Well-known respectively for their careers documenting war-torn countries, aboriginal cultures and awe-inspiring images often far-removed from our LA State of Mind, they bring a layer of anthropological and investigative photojournalism to the photo show platform.

Balanced off by a list of notable local shooters who are indisputably shaping and defining the aesthetics of contemporary photography of the Digital Era, the 35-person group exhibition is sure to be a special and all-inclusive night for photo culture. Sponsored by New York/Global fashion and design powerhouse, Staple Design, and bi-coastal quarterly photography publication Street Dreams Magazine, the event is co-signed by two creative entities who don’t lend their names to just anything. In fact, father of the Staple dynasty, Jeff Staple, will be showcasing some of his own work as well

Taking place for one night only, “Eye for an Eye” presents itself as must-see photography exhibition for cultural and social enthusiasts– as well as anyone who just wants to see their Instagram Discover page come to life in the coolest of ways. “Eye for an Eye” takes place tonight, Nov. 6, from 7pm to 12am at Downtown’s Think Space Gallery. To get in, email RSVP@HANDSDOWN.LA and have your $5 entry fee ready upon arrival.
