In recent months, CONTROL at Avalon has been doing a lot to contribute to the resurgence of drum & bass in Los Angeles. Tonight they are teaming up with the legendary Respect D&B crew to host British imprint Hospital Records, an independent label which has been filling London and the world with the best drum & Bass for nearly two decades.
D&B is a genre of electronic music which burst out of England in the early 1990s (just a few years before a Hospital Records was born on the same land). Drum & Bass can be easily identified by it’s unique sound made up of fast breakbeats and hefty basslines (hence the name).
Tonight’s lineup is made up of Danny Byrd, Metrik, Etherwood, Reso, Dynamite MC, and Machete. Check out a baby playlist of some of our favorite tracks from the pack, and be sure to pop into Avalon tonight prepared to dance, and see what you’ve been missing out on from one of the UK’s favorite genres.
