The List: Oktoberfest 2015 Happenings You Need to Attend

Octoberfest-Beer

Well, zeee Oktoberfest 2015 shenanigans are in full swing, along with the affiliated costumes people wear surrounding the annual festivities that run a muck and last all throughout the month. For all LA CANVAS intensive purposes, we chose six Bavarian beer beauts that we’d like to cop a beer at throughout the month—from our list to your iCal.

Red Lion Oktoberfest through 10/19 @ Red Lion Tavern | The already famous and frequented German inspired watering hole in Silverlake will unveil a new stein, Licher Oktoberfest taps, a special sausage on the menu and a German super Heino. Umm? Bonus: massive boots of beer and what will look like a willfully packed beer garden.

Wirtshaus Oktoberfest through 11/1 @ Wirtshaus | This wayyyy German restaurant and beirgarten kicked off the fest with what they note as a ‘surprise German celeb guest’ (we thought it was Claudia Schiffer) that tapped the ceremonial keg. With rotating German brats and beer specials, also find traditional German bands jamming out on Fridays and Saturdays. Bonus: staff in dirndls, so feel free to wear yours.

Oktoberfest Beer Olympics 10/11 @ Bar ONE | You’ve been here, yeah? If you haven’t, it’s the sweetest dive in the Valley. For beer inspired winnings, compete for prizes and cash in Olympic staples like corn hop, flip cup, Jenga and more, along with samplings of taster flights and downpours from local brewers, German drafts. Bonus: DJs and a burlesque performance from Bettie P’asian, whatever that name may mean to you.

Downtown Burbank OktoBURfest 10/18 @ DT Burbank | Pronounced by some as “Boooorbank” (maybe zee Germans?), head this way to fill your glass with over 60 varieties of local craft beers with sample vittles from neighborhood eateries at DT Burbank’s huge outdoor biergarten, along with soundtracks—some German inspired—by KCRW DJ Gary Calamar. Bonus: Swag bags with local goods.

PPOA Oktoberfest 11/1 @ The Standard DTLA | Cause they’re that with it, The Standard DTLA welcomes attendees on November 1st for this potential Oktoberfest wind-down, do-over session. Sweeping views and a roster of German beers, brats and contests are in store. Bonus: Bavarian damsels.
