RECAP: Liberty Fairs, Capsule and Agenda Las Vegas Trade Shows
LA CANVAS headed to Sin City this last week to hit up the Capsule, Liberty Fairs and AGENDA trade shows, August 17-19, 2015, at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in the Venetian hotel in Vegas. Each show was chalk full of influential brands, from young streetwear companies to classic denim brands and everything in between, all eager to share their upcoming collections and uniquely threaded ensembles.
Weaving in and out of various booths and making our way through the crowded carpet-lined aisles, we had the chance to chat with a few contemporarily unrivaled brands and caught up with some old favorites from each show.We put together of some of our top picks from this week’s shows, of course:
Hearing the faint, unmistakable sound of a tattoo gun, we couldn’t resist stepping into the Satya Twena booth, where they were tattooing custom hats. Satya Twena, the CEO and Creative director of Satya Twena Fine Millinery, established this cutting-edge hat company in 2010, and prides herself on the company’s high-quality, custom-fit hats, “handcrafted, fitted & designed by you.” Although the company employees were exclusively tattooing custom hats for various media and influential bloggers at the show, a custom-designed hat can be yours now. Sock and underwear brand, Richer Poorer, stole a great deal of the Capsule show attention this year. The California-born brand evoked a stylish yet sophisticatedly “cool” vibe, offering matchless prints and unobtrusively vibrant aesthetics on both their socks and boxer briefs. Richer Poorer proudly exhibited their Autumn/Winter ’15 as well as their Spring ’16 collections at Capsule, maintaining their same effortless style and “honest hustle” throughout each collection. EDWIN Watch without a doubt snagged the award for most creative booth at Agenda Show this year. Replicating an old-school barbershop, modeled after their “Crow’s Nest” part-barber shop, part-store in Toronto for their booth, EDWIN had heads turning and trade show visitors popping in for hair trims and stylings. EDWIN Watch proved true to their mission of catering to the fashion-conscious gent, “complementing a jeans-culture that fits neatly into any niche market,” and standing out from the crowd “in terms of appeal, aesthetics, reliability and affordability and the watches are wrist-wear of the highest calibre.” Peep more from the trendy EDWIN Watch company by visiting www.edwinwatch.com.

Katin, the original California surf company and lifestyle brand, proudly debuted their Spring/Summer ’16 “The Southern Seas” collection at Liberty Fairs. Centrally located in the hub of some of the industry’s most forward thinking brands, Katin achieved great success at the show. The Katin booth displayed authentic wood panel crates complete with bonsai trees and strategically placed vintage photographs encased in colorful picture frames, transporting guests right into the heart of the company’s birthplace in the original Kanvas by Katin surf shop. Katin’s new Spring/Summer ’16 line offered unique cuts and washes as well as rugged, ocean-inspired prints.
