It’s the B-Ball Battle of the Badges

By Susan Motander

If the police officers are looking a little scruffy, it is because of their No-Shave November, another fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society.  Monrovia Police Officers are not shaving to raise money for the Society.  You can join them by buying a No-Shave Tee Shirt for $20 or just donate $20 to the Cancer Society and not shave for the rest of the month.  The shirts are available for sale from the Community Policing Office at the Police Department.

It will be a battle between Monrovia Police and Monrovia Fire and Rescue.  But in this battle there will be no guns or batons, no axes or firehoses.  Instead the field of battle will be the Monrovia High School Basketball Gym.  The fund-raising basketball game will be held on Nov. 30 at 6 p.m.  All the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

The tickets are only $5 and children under 12 can enter for free.  Tickets can be purchased at both the police department, 140 East Lime and Fire Station 101, 141 East Lemon.  A special feature of the event will be a drawing for a 65 inch television donated by Czar Audio-Video. The Monrovia High School Gym is at 845 West Colorado.
This will be a great opportunity to help those who help the community every day, help even more people.
