Recently, the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) released their most recent survey of likely California voters regarding several matters that will be on the November 2018 ballot. Of particular note from the city’s perspective, both Proposition 6 (which would repeal the recently enacted increases in the gas tax and vehicle registration fees) and Proposition 10 (which would allow local government to enact local rent control measures) are trailing, and would not be approved.

You can view a full copy of the PPIC poll at ppic.org. A synopsis of the key findings in the report related to Proposition 6 and Proposition 10 are outlined below:

In respect to Proposition 6, 52 percent would vote no on the measure while 39 percent would vote yes and 8 percent are undecided

– In respect to Proposition 10, 48 percent would vote no on the measure while 36 percent would vote yes and 16 percent are undecided.

Remember that Oct. 22 is the last day to register to vote in the state of California.
