The Mustangs Muir boys’ soccer have stumbled out of the gate in their 2018-19 season as their latest 2-2 tie with Arcadia on Tuesday has them sitting even with the Apaches at the bottom of the league table.

Despite a respectable 5-2 routing over Blair on Nov. 29, the Mustangs have put up a less-than-impressive start to their season. Muir is 1-3-2 so far, including losses to Marshall, Burroughs, and Burbank while tying South El Monte 3-3 and now Arcadia 2-2.

The team will need to bounce back quickly in order to avoid finishing in last place for the second year in a row. In what could be a beneficial turn of events, the Mustangs will take a break from Pacific League play as they host Oxnard on Wednesday.

Muir will then play their final league game of the 2018 calendar year against Crescenta Valley before taking a two-break. League action is scheduled to start back up again on Jan. 4 as the Mustangs look to catch their bearings for a serious chance at the title.
