The Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) offers preschool and transitional kindergarten programs for the youngest learners and space is still available for 2018-2019.

PUSD’s preschool programs, for children three to five-years-old, balance learning in reading, writing, and math with science, art, and music in a nurturing environment designed for young learners. Full and half day programs are available. Families may be eligible for reduced or free services.

Dual language immersion classes in French, Mandarin, and Spanish are also available for a fee. Learn more at gopusd.com/ece or call (626) 396-5762.

Transitional kindergarten (TK) is the PUSD program that bridges the time between preschool and traditional Kindergarten. Designed for children who turn five years old between Sept. 2 and Dec. 2, 2018, TK gives young learners an academic and enriched foundation to succeed in school.

Transitional Kindergarten is offered at eight PUSD campuses:

  • Franklin Elementary.
  • Jefferson Elementary.
  • Longfellow Elementary.
  • Madison Elementary.
  • McKinley School.
  • Norma Coombs Elementary.
  • Washington Elementary.
  • Willard Elementary.

Learn more at gopusd.com/tk. Visit your neighborhood PUSD school to register for the TK program that corresponds to your home address. Placement in TK is determined by the family’s residence address. See the 2018-2019 TK school assignments.

If the TK program for your address is full, contact the PUSD Office of Enrollment at (626) 396-3639.
