Arcadia Weekly there in support of small business development

By Terry Miller

Vintage Treasures & Antiques Arcadia fêted five highly successful years in business Monday evening with the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce and the launch of the new addition, Mid Century Furniture Showroom, which is adjacent to their vintage clothing and hats showroom.

The effervescent and colorful mother-daughter team of Jeanette Beraha and Raquel McLaughlin greeted over 85 guests Monday at the party to commemorate the auspicious occasion; including staff from Arcadia Weekly, a publication of Beacon Media News and sister publication of Monrovia Weekly and Pasadena Independent, who attended to show support for local small-business ventures. The party was replete with vintage songs sung by a talented music student to a large supply of Mexican food that appealed to carnivores and vegetarians alike.

Vintage Treasures boasts the largest collection in vintage hats in Los Angeles and Vintage Treasures Arcadia hopes to offer the most reasonable mid-century furniture in the area, “In a time, where hipsters love their mid-century classics,” according to McLaughlin.

Beraha is proud to admit that she is a senior citizen with so much to give back professionally and personally who “pours out all of her passion to preserve the fine of art of vintage and antiques.” McLaughlin says “My mamma is my boss!”

In attendance were Mayor Sho Tay, Mayor Pro Tem April Verlato, Arcadia Weekly Managing Editor Amelia Lucero, Arcadia Weekly News Editor Terry Miller, Arcadia Chamber of Commerce CEO Karen MacNair, Arcadia Chamber Membership Director Kristy Bradshaw, Brian Horn (third generation) owner of Divine’s Antiques from Monterey Park, and professional furniture staging company Jacqueline Victoria Homes’ CEO  Jacqueline Cerver.
