Cash Up Front and ‘Lego Ninjago’

The City of Arcadia’s free 2018 summer concert and movie series is approaching fast, so make sure you don’t miss out on the fun. The summer concerts and movies are both on Thursday evenings. Concerts start at 6:30 p.m. and movies at dusk on the west lawn between City Hall and the Police Department. This is fun for the entire family. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets and enjoy an evening outdoors. There is also a free fun zone, featuring games, crafts, and activities each week.  In addition, the City is pleased to announce we will be having The Surfer Taco Food Truck at all of the events. The Surfer Taco truck has served the Los Angeles area for several years. Their menu includes a large variety of delicious items which are sure to fill you up and have you coming back for more. A portion of the proceeds will be given to the Recreation and Community Services Department.  Please note parking is provided at City Hall and Santa Anita Race Track at Gate 5 only. For more information, please call (626) 574-5113. Below is the line-up for Aug. 9:

Cash Up Front (Tribute to Johnny Cash)

For high-octane renditions of Cash’s classic catalog, there is no substitute for Cash Up Front.  For the band, the music is the tribute to Johnny. Johnny Cash’s spirit looms large as the music takes center stage, bringing enthusiastic audience members what they came to hear…Cash done the way it should be done.

“Lego Ninjago” (PG)

The battle for Ninjago City is upon us. Master Builder Lloyd and his friends take on Garmadon, Lloyd’s own father. Pitting father against son, the epic showdown tests these fierce but undisciplined modern-day ninjas as they learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash the inner power of Spinjitzu. What a way to end the series.
