The Muir Mustangs are on a roll, and a final league showdown against crosstown Pasadena High School appears likely to determine the Pacific League Championship.  Though Coach Simaine Stewart is tasked with keeping the Mustangs focused on each opponent in front of them, it’s hard for outsiders to not look towards the future.  Pasadena High School has been the class of the Pacific League, but there may be a new team ready to take the championship mantle.

Muir has won 10 out of their last 11 games, with their only loss coming against Pasadena.  Despite the loss, they are in a position for revenge.  They just have to keep winning, and last Friday, they did just that.  Against Burroughs High School, senior star Hunter Woods led the way with 33 points and 11 rebounds.  Woods is being recruited by a number of schools, but for now, he is focused on the rest of the season.  With five games left for the Mustangs, each game is a must-win.  The race to the finish line will be one to watch.
