With a 3-0 loss to Burroughs on Tuesday, the Arcadia boys’ volleyball team is officially out of the race for the Pacific League title.

Despite a valiant effort, the Apaches were unable to grind out a much-needed victory against the Indians, who remain atop the league standings with an undefeated record at 8-0. Arcadia was no match for a seasoned Burroughs squad that hasn’t lost a Pacific League game since 2013.

In the beginning of the season, things were looking quite bleak for the Apaches as they stumbled out to a 0-3 start. However, the team quickly developed composure and started to string several wins together.

The longest win streak the Apaches completed this season lasted five games including wins over Vazquez, Heritage Christian, Eastside and Golden Valley. Arcadia was also off to a great start in league play as well, jumping out to 4-0 until falling to Burroughs during their latest outing.

Next up, the Apaches will looks to close the year on high note starting with a game on Tuesday against Hoover, a team they already swept 3-0 earlier this season.
