AHS Student Body President Earns Eagle Scout Rank

EAGLE Scout PICTURE Arcadia High School ASB President, Charles Peter Tsouvalas, 18, earns the rank of Eagle from Boy Scout Troop 174 of Temple City.  Tsouvalas completed four ten-day backpacking Sierra Treks including reaching the summit of Mt. Whitney in 2004. 

Serving as the Senior Patrol leader for Troop 174 in 2008, the Troop’s four patrols received first through fourth place titles in the Annual Camporee competition held by the San Gabriel Council. 

Tsouvalas also received 47 merit badges and backpacked over 500 miles.

In addition to scouting, Tsouvalas served each year as ASB President for Arcadia High School of California and was Co-captain of the Academic Decathlon Team receiving 11 individual academic medals and working in the Senior Men’s Club on various community projects. 

He was a member of the awarded winning Arcadia High School Marching Band.  Tsouvalas help orchestrate a Diversity Week Training Session and two recycling programs for the students at Arcadia High. 

His Eagle Project was refurbishing classrooms at the Good Shepard Church in Arcadia.  Tsouvalas went to Sacramento as a Boy State representative for the American Legion and is a member of Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church in Pasadena. 

He graduated with National Honors and is a recipient of the Helen Rowe Humanitarian Scholarship and will attend Johns Hopkins this Fall.
