With the Los Angeles County’s deadline to run for office passing on Aug. 7, qualified lists of candidates for local office have been set for the Nov. 3 election. Here is a list of some local races to keep an eye on as mail-in ballots begin to hit mailboxes in October. Here is a brief roundup of who’s running — as of Aug. 24 — in the San Fernando Valley and neighboring communities . L.A. City Council District 4 — Ranges from Sherman Oaks and Van Nuys to Toluca Lake, and then through the Cahuenga Pass and into Hollywood and Koreatown.
