In its 17th year of offering summer learning opportunities, the Pasadena Educational Foundation (PEF) launched the PEF Summer Enrichment Program | At Home Edition with a new format to reach students at home at PEFSummer.org

The At Home Edition is offered online this year for students PreK-12th grade, and includes hands-on video lessons from some of the most popular classes, summer learning tips, volunteer opportunities for high school students to earn service hours, and links to partner resources. Registration is not required and participation is free. The program has kept the original dates of June 8 – July 10, debuting new video lessons and resources each week. Videos are 5-10 minutes long and include downloadable lesson plans. Videos can be watched at any time throughout the summer.

PEF additionally launched a companion weekly Summer Times Newsletter that comes out every Monday (through July 6) to share the latest video lessons and more summer learning activities. Anyone can sign up to receive the Summer Times weekly updates at pefsummer.org/summertimes/.

One thousand learning supply kits were created to meet the needs of the diverse student community and distributed to low-income families at several Grab & Go Meal sites. Paper lesson plans were offered in two languages for households that may not have access to the internet. All lessons were developed to use basic supplies that families could find at home or from the learning supply kits.

The PEF Summer Enrichment Program | At Home Edition is made possible with support from California Arts Council, Capital Group Companies Foundation, The Green Foundation, Helen and Will Webster Foundation, Pasadena Community Foundation, Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation, and donations from community members.
