Pasadena PD Arrests Suspects in Attempted Murder Case

On Thursday, June 4, at about 10:45 a.m., Pasadena Police Department responded to the 100 block of Painter Street regarding a report of shots fired. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male victim on the grassy area of the apartment complex suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by paramedics to a local hospital in critical condition. As of Friday, the victim was in stable condition and recovering.

On Wednesday, June 10, by the late evening hours, detectives along with the U.S. Marshal’s Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested three suspects for the attempted murder of an adult male victim.

Police say this was not a random attack and continues to investigate the motive. No further details have been released.

The suspects have been identified as Jason William Zarate (male, 27-years old, Pasadena resident), Edgar Stephen Fuentes (male, 21-years old, Pasadena resident) and Stephanie Albarran (female, 23-years old, West Covina resident).

The case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office on Friday. All three suspects were charged with attempt murder. Albarran’s and Fuentes’ bail has been set at $1,030,000. Zarate’s bail was set at $2,030,000. Their arraignment was set for Friday.
