On Thursday at about 10:45 a.m., Pasadena Police Department (PPD) received several calls of shots fired in the 100 block of Painter Street. Officers arrived on scene and located the adult victim on the grass area of the apartment complex.

Paramedics arrived on scene and transported the victim in critical condition to a local hospital. Officers canvassed the area for evidence and witnesses. Pasadena detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation.

PPD says it appears the victim was standing on the sidewalk in front of the property when the suspect vehicle drove up alongside and shot at the victim, striking him in the torso area. According to PPD, it has been reported by witnesses that the suspect vehicle may have been a grey colored sedan which was occupied by at least two suspects.

This is an active investigation and detectives are currently following up with leads. The motive remains unknown.
