The Pasadena Chorale will open the 2026-27 concert season with a performance of Mozart’s “Mass in C-Minor” next month, organizers announced Friday.
With direction from Founding Artistic & Executive Director Jeffrey Bernstein, Chorale singers will be accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra, the largest ever to perform with the nationally award-winning ensemble. Four vocal soloists also will be featured.
“The C-Minor Mass is a deeply personal and heartfelt work, and an exhilarating journey for the audience, by turns mournful, exuberant, and tender,” Bernstein said in a statement. “Mozart composed no finer music than this, weaving the orchestra and voices into an unforgettable sonic tapestry.”
Event organizers said they hope to welcome the Chorale’s largest audience to date to complement the biggest orchestra to accompany one of the group’s performances.
The 2026-27 season features nine concerts from November through June of choral masterworks, audience favorites, “intimate musical experiences” and world premieres by emerging composers, according to the Chorale.
The free event requires attendees to RSVP for tickets. For tickets and additional information, go to pasadenachorale.org.
Mozart: Mass in C-Minor is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 500 E. Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena.
