The City of Baldwin Park held a formal check presentation last week to celebrate a $3 million state investment secured by Assemblywoman Blanca E. Rubio. The funding will help advance the new Teri G. Muse Family Service Center and expand access to critical programs and support services for Baldwin Park families. The presentation will take place at the current center located at 14305 Morgan St.

“Investing in Baldwin Park’s Family Services Center means investing directly in the health, stability and future of local families,” said Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio. “This funding will help create a fully accessible, centralized resource where children, seniors, individuals experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable residents can connect with the critical services they need. I am proud to support this project and help ensure Baldwin Park residents can access support closer to home.”

The Teri G. Muse Family Service Center connects the San Gabriel Valley community with nonprofit organizations and partners that provide social, economic, legal, health and human services. The new facility will give providers additional space to serve residents, allowing Baldwin Park to expand counseling and health programs and host community events.

“We are immensely grateful to Assemblywoman Rubio for securing this significant investment in Baldwin Park,” said Mayor Daniel Damian. “The Teri G. Muse Family Service Center has been an important resource for our residents for decades, and this funding brings us closer to creating a new facility that can serve even more families and provide greater access to the resources they rely on.”

This state investment builds upon previous federal support for the Teri G. Muse Family Service Center, including $3.15 million in recently secured federal funding for the Center’s future expansion, following $750,000 in federal funding previously awarded through the Fiscal Year 2023 Omnibus Funding Bill.
