The City of Long Beach, in partnership with Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD), the Long Beach College Promise, the Mayor’s Fund for Long Beach, S.T.R.E.A.M. Global, Port of Long Beach and other regional education and workforce partners, is once again hosting the Long Beach College & Career Expo from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Long Beach Convention Center and Entertainment Center Exhibit Hall C (300 E. Ocean Blvd.).
“The Long Beach College and Career Expo brings our schools, colleges, businesses, city departments and community partners together to connect students with the opportunities and resources that can shape their future,” said Mayor Rex Richardson. “We are investing in our young people by creating stronger pathways to college, careers and the workforce. When our students have the tools and connections to succeed, Long Beach is stronger and more prosperous for generations to come”
This year’s event will be held in a larger space and feature even more vendors. The 2026 expo will continue to provide immersive, hands-on opportunities for students to connect directly with professionals, discover careers and educational pathways across a variety of industries, including aerospace and engineering; healthcare and medical careers; skilled trades and apprenticeships; technology and artificial intelligence; business and entrepreneurship; creative arts and media; hospitality and tourism; transportation and logistics; environmental sustainability; public safety; local government and public service; education and human services; and many more emerging career sectors.
As Long Beach prepares to welcome the world for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, this year’s expo will also introduce new opportunities for students to explore how the Games are creating career pathways across the region.
Participants will have opportunities to learn how city departments, public agencies and regional partners are helping prepare Long Beach for the Olympics through careers in infrastructure, engineering, transportation, hospitality, parks and recreation, sustainability, event management, public safety, technology, communications, logistics and community engagement. Students will gain insight into how today’s educational choices can prepare them for careers connected to one of the world’s largest international events.
“Our responsibility is to help students see what’s possible and give them meaningful opportunities to pursue it,” said Long Beach Unified Superintendent David Zaid. “When students can connect what they’re learning in our classrooms with colleges, careers, and professionals in their own community, they begin to see a future they can build for themselves.”
In 2025, the Long Beach College & Career Expo welcomed approximately 2,300 students and families, featured 63 colleges and universities, 70 employers and workforce partners, and included participation from 11 Long Beach Unified School District high schools.
Free parking will be offered at the Long Beach Arena Garage (Seaside Way and South Hart Place) for the duration of the event. LBUSD high school students will also have the opportunity to attend this event as a field trip during the school day prior to the event opening to the public.
