The Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games LA28 has unveiled the Paralympic competition schedule by event, outlining when every medal event will take place during the upcoming Paralympic Games in the Los Angeles area.
Long Beach will stage seven Paralympic sporting events, with 72 ticketed sessions spanning 12 of the 14 days of the Paralympic Games, including 30 final sessions.
“Long Beach has long been a stage for global moments, and in summer 2028 our city is ready to add to that legacy by delivering an unforgettable Paralympic Games experience,” Mayor Rex Richardson said in a statement. “Seven sporting events, including the historic Paralympic Games debut of Para Climbing, will play out against the backdrop of our iconic coastline, and the spirit of Long Beach will be on full display.”
The schedule for the seven Paralympic sporting events in Long Beach is:
- Aug. 16-24, shooting para sport at Long Beach Target Shooting Hall;
- Aug. 17-26, para swimming at Long Beach Aquatics Center;
- Aug. 17-27, sitting volleyball at Long Beach Arena;
- Aug. 18-20, para rowing at Marine Stadium;
- Aug. 20-27, blind football (soccer) at Alamitos Beach Stadium;
- Aug. 24-26, para canoe at Marine Stadium; and
- Aug. 24-27, para climbing at Long Beach Climbing Theater.
Para climbing will make its Paralympic Games debut in Long Beach during the 2028 Games, marking the first time an organizing committee has added a sport to the Paralympic sports program.

Hosted by the city of Los Angeles, the upcoming Paralympic Games are set to take place Aug. 15-27, 2028.
The Olympics will take place July 14-30, 2028, where Long Beach will host 11 sporting events and 159 ticketed sessions spanning the entirety of the Games.
