The Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine and the city’s Public Library are set to host Spring Fest, a free, family-friendly community event featuring a variety of springtime activities for eventgoers of all ages.

Spring Fest will take place March 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lincoln Park, 101 Pacific Ave. in downtown Long Beach.

“Our Spring Fest is a great opportunity to hop into spring and enjoy everything the season has to offer,” Mayor Rex Richardson said in a statement. “Events like this reflect our ongoing commitment to providing accessible, family-friendly events for our community to come together, build lasting memories and enjoy a day at one of our beautiful Long Beach parks.”

Spring Fest’s signature activities include two age-designated egg hunts for ages 3-6 at 11:30 a.m. and ages 7-12 at 12:30 p.m., a bunny trail for children ages 2 years and younger and visits from the Easter Bunny with picture opportunities at rotating times throughout the event.

Youth can also create flower planter souvenirs and spring-themed pipe cleaner mementos to take home.

Additional activities include a cupcake walk at 1:30 p.m., arts and crafts, face painting, group games and other attractions.

Attendees can also enter free raffles for the chance to win prizes, courtesy of the Parks Department and the Library. Light refreshments will also be available, while supplies last, event organizers said.

To participate in activities, attendees must check in to receive a bracelet. Participation in the egg hunts is available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last, according to organizers.

Free parking will be available during the event in the Civic Center Parking Garage, 332 W. Broadway.
