Orange County Public Works will install a new chain-link stair cage around the beach stairs near the Ocean Institute within the City of Dana Point. Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday and wrap up by March 3. Expect to see activity Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, these estimated construction hours and schedule will vary due to tides, inclement weather, ocean conditions and other factors.

Crews will remove the existing chain-link stair cage at the beach entrance at the northwest end of Dana Point Harbor, near the Ocean Institute. A new aluminum coated chain-link stair cage, maintaining the same height and size of the previous stair cage, will be installed in its place.

Beach stairway access will be closed for the two-week duration of the project.
