An extended weekend closure will be in effect Saturday night for the northbound Interstate 5 in Burbank between Empire Avenue and Buena Vista Street for pavement repairs, Caltrans reported.
The closures began at 10 p.m. Friday and is scheduled through 5 a.m. Monday, officials said. Crews will reduce the northbound I-5 to two lanes between Empire Avenue at San Fernando Boulevard and Buena Vista Street.
Additionally, the section of the northbound freeway will be fully closed overnight for restriping on Saturday and Monday. The westbound State Route 134 connector to the northbound I-5 will also be closed during the extended weekend closure, according to Caltrans.
