The Year of the Horse will trot into Duarte at the city’s festive Lunar New Year Celebration next month.
Set for Saturday, Feb. 21 from 5-8 p.m. at the Duarte Civic Center, 1600 Huntington Drive, the free, family-friendly event offers everyone an opportunity to experience vibrant cultural traditions while celebrating the start of a new lunar year together, city officials said. Tenets of the Lunar New Year Celebration are highlighting the community’s cultural diversity and providing a welcoming space to gather, celebrate and learn.
“Whether you’re continuing a long-held tradition or experiencing Lunar New Year festivities for the first time, this event offers something for everyone,” according to event organizers.
Live cultural performances, a night market to explore, samplings of tasty food from a variety of vendors, and traditional crafts and games are the celebration’s featured attractions.
