The Arcadia Historical Society will host a special “Talkin’ History” presentation on Friday at 5 p.m. at Floretta Lauber Education Center adjacent to the Gilb Museum (382 W. Huntington Drive in Arcadia).
The featured speaker will be Susie Ling, who has taught Asian American Studies and history at Pasadena City College since 1984. Professor Ling, a native of Taiwan, is an active member of the Chinese Historical Society of Southern California.
Arrive at 5 p.m. for “Happy Hour” fun, fellowship, and refreshments. There is no cost and all are welcome to attend.
On Saturday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. in the Cay Mortensen Auditorium at the Arcadia Public Library, Ed Andersen will present “Adams Pack Station and the Old Camps of the San Gabriels.” This event is free for anyone interested in the early mountaineers and camps that once operated in the San Gabriel Mountains.
The Arcadia Woman’s Club and Arcadia Historical Society have teamed up for a “Winery Mystery Murder Dinner and Casino Night” to be held at the Woman’s Club on Nov. 14.
