The Riverside County Department of Animal Services has partnered with PetSmart Charities to bring adoptable pets to the Palm Desert and Hemet PetSmart’s in support of National Adoption Week, taking place Monday through Sunday.
Stop by an adoption event at the PetSmart in Palm Desert or Hemet to spend time with adoptable pets of all ages, breeds and temperaments in spacious areas to find just the right match. Every pet who finds a home frees up space for shelters to help the next animal in need. With staff and volunteers available to help potential new pet parents, visitors can spend time with pets available for adoption. Adopting pets can help improve the health and wellness of people by reducing feelings of isolation and inspiring more active lifestyles. Caring for pets can also fosters values for children such as responsibility and selflessness.
“Partnering with PetSmart Charities allows us to get more pets into the community to help them find their forever homes,” said RCDAS Public Information Officer Veronica Perez.
“Animal shelters and rescues are doing incredible work to save pets each day, but they can’t do it without the community’s support,” said Heidi Marston, director of Pet Placement Initiatives at PetSmart Charities. “Adopting or fostering a pet can be an incredibly enriching experience and is the best way to support your local organizations.”
Adoptable pets will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 34900 Monterey Ave., Palm Desert, CA 92211 and at 2153 W. Florida Ave., Hemet, CA 92545. To view all available pets for adoption, visit www.rcdas.org.
