Pasadena Humane resumes pet adoptions

Following a month of focus on caring for pets displaced by the Eaton Fire, Pasadena Humane resumed pet adoptions Monday.

Adoptions are on a walk-in basis 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, appointments are not needed. To see a list of adoptable animals, visit pasadenahumane.org/adopt/view-pets.

Pasadena Humane officials suggested prospective pet adopters get familiar with the new adoption process via pasadenahumane.org/adopt/adoption-process.

“Please note that stray animals we have featured on our social media may still be on their stray holds and not available for adoption,” according to Pasadena Humane. “Additionally, while some animals injured in the Eaton Fire have completed their stray holds, they may not be immediately available for adoption as they are still receiving veterinary care in our ICU.”

The public is not allowed to tour kennels “to minimize stress for the many pets in our care that are at Pasadena Humane for emergency boarding,” according to the shelter. Potential adopters should check adoptable pets on the organization’s website, then let a Pasadena Humane counselor know the animals of interest. Two pets are available for meeting per adoption consultation.

Shelter officials expected a large number of prospective adopters Monday.

“We ask that you please be patient as we do our best to accommodate everyone and make sure all adopters are matched with the pet that’s right for them,” officials said.
