Justin Yasutake, a teacher and girls’ soccer coach, has been charged with possessing videos and images of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including images of a minor under 12 years old. Yasutake worked as a youth soccer coach in the city of Arcadia and other school settings in LA County.

“Child pornography will not be tolerated in LA County, and individuals who exploit children will be vigorously prosecuted, especially when they are educators who hold positions of trust in the community,” said Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman. “We believe there are additional victims and I urge anyone with information on this case to contact law enforcement as soon as possible. Our Cyber Crimes Division will hold offenders accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

Yasutake is charged with one felony count of possession of child or youth pornography. It is further alleged that Yasutake possessed more than 600 images of child sexual abuse, including 10 or more images of a prepubescent minor or a minor who was under 12 years of age.

On or about Nov. 12, Arcadia police executed a search warrant on Yasutake’s electronic devices and discovered multiple videos and photos of child sexual abuse.

Yasutake was arrested on Dec. 11. Arraignment is scheduled Dec. 23.

If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of six years in state prison and will be required to register as a sex offender for life.

The case is being prosecuted by the office’s Cyber Crimes Division and investigated by the Arcadia Police Department.

Additional victims or anyone with information is asked to contact Arcadia police detectives at 626-574-5188, case number 2404863. Information may also be provided anonymously by phone at (800) 222-8477, online at lacrimestoppers.org, or though the mobile app “P3 Tips.”
