An office in Cypress belonging to Rep. Michelle Steel was vandalized for the second time this year, the congresswoman announced Friday.
A rock-throwing vandal or vandals broke at least one upper-story office window, the Democratic lawmaker’s office reported. No one was injured.
The vandalism — which happened after Steel “received dozens of calls” from pro-Palestine protesters demanding she not attend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress — is the second time this year that Steel’s district office was damaged intentionally, according to the congresswoman. Demonstrators convened loudly at Steel’s office “vandalizing it with pro-Hamas literature” in January.
“Violence of any kind has no place in our society, and no amount of it will stop me from doing what I believe is right for Southern California families,” Steel said in a statement.
Cypress police were investigating the rock-throwing incident.
