“Bullet Train” kept its spot atop the box office with $13.4 million in its second weekend at North American theaters, according to industry estimates released Sunday.
The action film starring Brad Pitt led a tepid weekend at theaters, with the lowest overall grosses of the summer at $66.2 million.
“DC League of Super-Pets” was second with $7.17 million Friday through Sunday in its third week in theaters, Comscore reported.
Third place went to “Top Gun: Maverick” with $7.15 million — a remarkable showing for a film in its 12th week of release. The sequel to the 1986 hit — which also starred Tom Cruise — has now grossed more than $673 million domestically.
“Thor: Love and Thunder” was fourth with $5.31 million in its sixth week, followed by “Nope” with $5.3 million in its fourth week.
Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were “Minions: The Rise of Gru” ($4.9 million), “Where the Crawdads Sing” ($4 million), “Bodies Bodies Bodies” ($3.2 million), “Elvis” ($2.58 million) and “Fall” ($2.5 million).
The year-to-date box office total is up to $512 billion — an increase of 176% over 2021’s figure, according to Comscore.
