An 80-year-old Murrieta man with dementia drove away in his pickup truck Monday without notifying family members, prompting police to initiate a search.

Martin Tucker was last seen about noon in the area of Adams and Magnolia streets, according to the Murrieta Police Department.

The agency said Tucker left from his residence in his green 1997 Dodge Ram pickup, California license plate 7-A-6-9-6-8-2. His destination was unknown.

Police said Tucker is Caucasian, balding, with a white beard. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans when he left home.

There was no word on where he might have intended to go, but because of his dementia, authorities fear he may already be disoriented and lost.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the police department at 951-304-2677, or call 911.
