Another round of Santa Ana winds is heading for the Southland, with forecasters warning of gusty conditions Tuesday night into Wednesday, particularly in mountain areas.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory that will be in effect from 4 p.m. Tuesday to noon Wednesday for the Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area, Los Angeles County mountains and the Santa Clarita and San Fernando valleys.

Forecasters said winds could reach 20 to 30 mph, with mountain gusts up to 50 mph and the valleys seeing gusts up to 45 mph.

Coastal areas will also experience increased winds, with gusts of up to 35 mph possible by early Wednesday, according to the weather service. But as of Monday afternoon, no wind advisories have been issued for the coastal areas.

“These gusty winds, especially over the mountains and valleys, will bring the potential for hazardous driving conditions for high-profile vehicles and downed trees and power lines,” according to the NWS.

In Orange County, a wind advisory will be in effect from 4 p.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday in inland areas and in the Santa Ana Mountains and foothills. Those areas could also see gusts of up to 50 mph, mainly in the mountains, according to the NWS.

The offshore flow will elevate temperatures by Wednesday, with coastal areas and valleys reaching into the mid-70s, and the warm conditions lasting into Thursday, forecasters said. Typically warmer areas could have temperatures around 80.
