The Long Beach State men’s basketball game at Cal Poly scheduled for Thursday has been canceled due to COVID-19 protocols within the Mustang program, the universities announced Wednesday.

Per recently adjusted Big West Conference guidelines, the game will be declared a no contest and not be rescheduled.

The game is the fourth consecutive cancellation for the Beach. Their games planned for Dec. 18 against La Sierra and Dec. 20 University of San Diego were canceled due to COVID-19 protocols within their program.

A Dec. 28 game against Hope International, an NAIA school, was added Dec. 21, but canceled the day it was to be played due to COVID-19 safety protocols within the Hope International program.

Long Beach State (3-7) is next scheduled to play Saturday at Cal State Bakersfield in what would be their conference opener. The Beach has not played since Dec. 12 when they lost to USC, 73-62.
