The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Friday that USC Sigma Nu chapter President Ryan Schiffilea is a suspect in a sexual assault case.

“Ryan Schiffilea is a suspect but has not been arrested. This is an ongoing investigation,” LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes told City News Service.

Six students have filed reports to the USC Department of Public Safety after a party at the fraternity house last month where they say they were drugged.

USC President Carol Folt has suspended a student in connection with some of the allegations, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“Such behaviors are deeply disturbing, they hurt people and go against everything we stand for as a community,” Folt wrote in an email to the USC community obtained by The Times. “We are sorry for the pain and anguish this is causing.”

It is not clear if Schiffilea is the student who was suspended.

Students marched back and forth outside the Sigma Nu house Friday, as students plastered notes on the house referring to sexual assaults.

“You are all complicit,” read one note.

Sigma Nu has been placed by the university on interim suspension, which blocks it from hosting or organizing any activities.

USC reported the allegations and chapter suspension to Sigma Nu’s national headquarters, The Times reported.
