Additional officers from Pasadena PD will be out on patrol Friday, Sept. 17 looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, according to a press release from the Pasadena Police Department.
During checkpoints, officers will be stopping drivers to monitor for any signs of unsafe driving habits, such as driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs along with checking for proper licensing.
The location of the checkpoint will be determined by previous DUI incidents in the city of Pasadena.
Pasadena PD conducted a 9-hour DUI checkpoint in Pasadena on July 29, with details of that particular checkpoint likely being similar to the checkpoint announced later this week.
Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a license suspension.
