Today, the prolific Chicago rapper released his much-anticipated follow-up to 2018’s  critically acclaimed full-length “Pieces of a Man,” which saw collaborations with artists such as Kaytranada, Ghostface Killa, Julien Bell and more.

The EP, entitled “The Circus,” kicks off with the new song and video “Carefree.”

The album finds Mick at a wiser period in his life, showcasing his penchant for dynamic storytelling with an introspective, and investigative look at the state of the world through his eyes and informed by his experiences.

Jenkins describes the EP as, “A direct prelude to my forthcoming album.”

He explains that “The Circus” is, “A body of work about just that. These days it’s very hard to look at the state of the world and popular culture and not see allegory that makes this metaphor our reality more often than not.”

Now he’s getting back on the road with EARTHGANG to preview new music that he’s gearing up to release in 2020. Witness the evolution of this artist January 22, at The Fonda Theatre and kick of your year with great story-telling and music. This is only a taste of the exciting trajectory Mick Jenkins has already been on. His present is full of promise for the future.
