Pasadena police arrested three adults and three juveniles Thursday night in connection with a confrontation Saturday afternoon between police detaining a suspect and a group of Black Lives Matter supporters.
Lt. Tracey Ibarra said Friday that the six were arrested last night in La Pintoresca Park about 7 p.m.
The adults arrested were Venesha Davis, 21, of Altadena; Kenneth Reddix, 22, of Pasadena; and Everett Johnson, 18, also of Pasadena.
All three were issued citations for suspicion of willfully resisting, obstructing, or delaying police officers from the performance of their duties. All three were released.
Also arrested were three juveniles who were cited on suspicion of allegedly committing similar offenses. The three minors were transported to the Pasadena Police station and released on a citation to parents.
Those suspects were a 13- and 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl.
The arrests follow the arrest and citation of an 11-year-old boy on Monday night under the same juvenile code section, and then on Wednesday night of Black Lives Matter Pasadena organizer Jasmine Richards, 28.
Richards was charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney with one count of attempted lynching, which in California law refers to the taking “by means of a riot of any person from the lawful custody of any peace officer.”
She pleaded not guilty. Her bail was set at $75,000 in an arraignment Friday.
Richards’s next court date has been set for a Sept. 23 preliminary hearing.
