Pasadena Museum of History Training Education Volunteers for 2015-2016 School Year

Each year thousands of third and fourth-grade students come to Pasadena Museum of History (PMH) to take advantage of unique programs exploring the history and art of the western San Gabriel Valley. These learning experiences are especially memorable, because they take place in historic Fenyes Mansion and its surrounding gardens, and feature numerous interactive opportunities.

The Museum is currently recruiting and training new Education Volunteers to assist with the 2015-16 school year’s Junior Docents and My Masterpieces programs. Volunteers must be 18 years or older, available to work shifts between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon on select weekdays, and able to commit to at least two shifts per month during the school year.

New volunteers interested in the Junior Docents program are encouraged to attend a one-hour orientation session Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 2:30 pm (volunteers may stay to observe the 3:30 pm training for students).

New volunteers interested in the My Masterpieces program are encouraged to attend orientation sessions on Thursday, October 1, both at 9:00 am.

Additional information about these programs and online volunteer registration is available at www.pasadenahistory.org, or call 626.577.1660, ext. 26.
