Twenty volunteer Pasadena Police officers served close to 50 clients at Friend in Deed’s Bad Weather Shelter (BWS) program Wednesday.

For the past few months the City of Pasadena has partnered with Friends in Deed, a local nonprofit in staffing a homelessness shelter at the Pasadena Covenant Church located at 539 N.  Lake Ave. Every Wednesday evening a volunteer group helps with setting up cots and preparing a warm meal for their most vulnerable clients. The homeless clients are also provided basic health screenings and first aid by nursing students from Azusa Pacific University. The shelter sees between 50-75 clients each night.

Friends in Deed is an interfaith organization that provides supportive services to meet basic human needs. For more information call (626) 797-2402.
